FIRE ANT TREATMENT
Fire ant colonies can grow anywhere across the U.S. However, due to the warm, dry climate in North Texas, they especially love Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. A single fire ant colony may not sound like a big problem. Nonetheless, the National Park Service says that a large colony of fire ants can have 300,000 to 500,000 active and aggressive workers at one time!
NPS also reports fire ant mounds can go underground by 20 feet or more with 8-foot-long lateral tunnels in every direction. A single queen can lay up to 1,500 eggs per day! Considering all these facts, fire ants can destroy the yard around your home or office.
Do I have a fire ant problem?
Have you noticed any of the following?
- Fire ants around your home or business.
- Mounded piles of sandy earth on your property.
- People complaining they’ve been stung while outside.
- Felt like bugs were biting you while doing yard work.
If you answered yes to any of the questions, then it’s possible that there’s a fire ant situation that needs treating. And treatment needs to begin as soon as possible.
How do I get rid of fire ants?
There are over the counter products that offer to eliminate fire ants. However, these won’t prevent them from returning. These products don’t target the eggs and larvae that eventually become the full-grown fire ants behind the next new colony.
Our team can help prevent reoccurrence. First, we rid your property of fire ants. Then we’ll begin a preventative maintenance program. It involves noninvasive steps that prevent them from making a return visit.
Noninvasive means that the treatment we use is safe for humans, pets, wildlife, and plants on your property. Treatment will not affect flowerbeds or any aesthetics.
